EP7 Podcast Channel

Based on the highly successful EP7 Program - Reinvent You in 7 Steps - founded by George Helou. The EP7 Podcast Channel is hosted by the founder and his co-hosts including Rachel Donovan et al. The EP7 Podcast Channel was launched to share with you practical and timely advice to improve your confidence, clarity and resilience in all aspects of your life, particularly your relationship with yourself as well as with a partner, family, colleagues and beyond. We hope you also engage the conversation on the EP7 Official Facebook Page. The whole point of the EP7 Podcast Channel, is to share insights and ideas to help us create and improve relationships and realise our most important goals. We decided to dedicate the first series of podcasts to intimate relationships and how closely this interconnects with the relationship with yourself. We look at bad habits and how we seal a relationship’s fate from the moment we begin it, what to do so we are in a position to attract a suitable partner and what it means to grow together. Another area of conversation will be relationships at work, looking at management and colleagues. We explore how to develop work cultures, helping them to move out of office politics and into thriving environments while breaking records.  We also look forward to discussing relationship issues that arise with family members who we love but who do seem to frustrate us more than anyone.  This is where many of us say that our buttons seem to be pushed the most intensely and frequently. Between the podcasts and the EP7 Official Facebook page, our conversation will take place, therefore together with your feedback and participation, you can guide where our adventure takes us.

Sociopaths are everywhere and the label might be helpful, but in truth, the sociopathic traits are in all of us. The difference is in the level of intensity of these traits that can help us identify personalities that are going to be highly destructive in a relationship and are worth avoiding. We discuss from personal experience what it’s like to be associated with a sociopath and what you can do to realise in a timely manner and get out before serious damage is done to your well-being.

Here’s what was covered:

  • "If it’s easy [falling] IN [love], then you can expect it’s likely to be easy OUT." [3:08]
  • How will you know it's not true love yet? [4:25]
  • [..,] because how they respect you while you think differently is a good measure of how mature they are." [4:53]
  • [..,] because when someone builds you up, you almost feel obliged to prove they’re right.” [5:48]
  • "And so if you feel like nothing you seem to do is ever good enough, that is a very good ALARM BELL." [8:34]
  • The way you go about things is often judged by them. You’re supposed to learn the way and they know the way. [12:22]
  • "The whole part of the struggle as a sociopath is being wrong, [they see it as] horrendous and diabolical to their safety." [13:50]
  • "You'll notice also that they actually lie, so automatically that they're telling different stories to your friends. [..,] they're twisting; they're exaggerating to make themselves better." [16:00]
  • "If they don't trust you, the way they address the issues with you […] they’re over possessive, then you know, you need to get out." [17:07]
  • What to do when your partner is a sociopath. [18:00]
  • How to end the relationship with a sociopath with minimal resistant and drama. [20:08]
  • How being a sociopathic helps you end the relationship with a sociopath [23:00]

The Sociopath Part I Show Notes

Have you been or are you in a relationship with a sociopath? Or do you or have you worked with one? Once you develop the awareness to understand the traits, you will start to see them everywhere. And they become powerless when you see their games from the beginning. They rely on deception and manipulation and neither of these things are possible when you see what they are doing. We discuss from personal experience what it’s like to be associated with a sociopath and what you can do to realise in a timely manner and get out before serious damage is done to your well-being.

Here’s what was covered:

  • "Think about someone so obsessed with impressing you to make you feel super fantastic, before they even get to know you. Let that be an ALARM BELL." [05:05]
  • "When they quickly give you their whole life’s story […] their abuse, how they were treated badly, […] a story that you should feel sorry about their life […] Because later, when they treat you badly, they're going to bring up that they’re struggling because of their past. And you’re going to go "oh gosh! I need to save this person!"[06:20]
  • "It's making you feel like being a child again, so that innocence is being established." [7:13]
  • "You’re liking them, [but] expect a lot more pieces [of the puzzle] and the contrast will show up at some point because no one's perfect."[8:00]
  • "Once you become fanatical with anyone, it's no longer realistic." [9:20]
  • "You know what's scary is that feeling [of being intensely love bombed], it's like a drug"- Rachel [9:50]
  • "[..,] who have been abused violently, but they stay in it because of that drug at the beginning makes them live in false hope." [10:20]
  • "The other thing is... He looks at you, like you’re the only woman in the world [..,] you are the princess of all princesses."[11:00]
  • Why can we say that, that someone who makes us feels intoxicated even after the violent abuse, is the man/woman for us? [13:00]
  • Why does devoting or committing to set a future really quickly became an ALARM BELL in a relationship? [13:35]
